Communications is just like…

cooking. Of course!

Both take a lot of planning, plenty of intuition, loads of testing and just one mistake can really do a number on your desired outcome.

Good cooking comes from following an established recipe, great cooking comes from taking calculated deviations from the established norms.

And cooking is just like communications.

As an aside, if you try to deviate too much too soon, you’ll end up with either a failing campaign or a dog’s dinner.

    Yes, but a key difference is that if you don’t want to cook, there’s no fast-food joint out there to do it for you, or at least with your communications health in mind! Great point, though!

    you could say that if you don’t want to do it yourself there’s a whole industry out there to do it for you. YMMV depending on how much you want to pay for it though…
